Giant Salamander Museum
Giant salamander is the biggest and the most precious amphibian existing in the world at present. Its voice is like the cries of baby, so people also call it “Baby Fish”. Zhangjiajie, Located in west Hunan, has unique quartz sandstone peak forest, fabulous caves, quiet valleys, thick forests, wonderful streams, appropriate climate and abundant drainages, which provides excellent ecologic environments for the habitation and breeding of the giant salamanders, and thus Zhangjiajie becomes one of the areas where giant salamanders gather. In August 2010, Zhangjiajie Giant Salamander Museum was constructed at Zhangjiajie Hunan Province and opened to the public. Here, not only can you have "close contact” with giant salamanders, the most primitive and largest amphibian existing on the earth at present, observe and sense the mystery and miracles, but also you can appreciate the power and strength of the middle and far ancient creatures in “Jurassic Park”; besides, you experience the home of giant salamanders in person at a close distance-the unique scenery of Zhangjiajie.
